Написал: "Alphabet of nature" (1845); "An extension of phonography to foreign languages" (1848); "The essentials of phonetics" (1848); "A plea for phonetic spelling (2 изд., 1848); "On early English pronunciations (1869 —1875). Делал попытки определить произношение и выговор Чосера, Шекспира, Мильтона и их современников. Другие сочинения его: "Algebra identified with geometry" (1874); "The English, Dionysian and Hellenic pronunciations of Greek" (1876); "How to teach proportion without reference to commesurability" (1877); "Pron u nciation for singers" (1887; 2 изд., 1888); "Logic for children, deductive and inductive" (1882).
